A High Peaks Valentine’s Cocktail

Get your shaker out for a romantic tipple for two!

Nothing says Valentine’s Day like a gorgeous, romantic, drink. So of course I had to make a Valentine’s Day cocktail utilizing the one of the High Peaks seltzers! But to add a fun twist – this month, in honor of the day for couples, I thought I’d make a drink for two!

First, you will need to make a hibiscus grenadine.

Hibiscus Grenadine

  • 2 cups pomegranate juice
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 cup hibiscus flowers
  • 1 ounce vodka
  • 1 teaspoon Orange Blossom Water

Heat pomegranate juice in a saucepan, add sugar once juice is warm.

Stir until sugar is dissolved.

Add the rest of the ingredients.

Stir, bring to boil.

Remove from heat. Allow to cool.

Strain and store covered in refrigerator for up to six months.

Flowers for Two

  • 2 ounces vodka
  • 1 ounce kumquat liqueur
  • 1 ounce simple syrup
  • 1 ounce hibiscus grenadine
  • ½ ounce lemon juice
  • 6 dashes orange blossom water
  • 8 ounces High Peaks Sparkling Water and Hemp Extract Black Cherry
  • 2 Maraschino Cherries
  • 2 orange wheels
  • 2 Collins glasses

Add vodka, kumquat liqueur, simple syrup, hibiscus grenadine, lemon juice, and orange blossom water to a shaker with ice and shake.

Strain contents evenly between two Collins glasses and top with 4 ounces each of High Peaks Sparkling Water and Hemp Extract Black Cherry.

Add ice to fill the glasses.

For garnish, pierce through the pith of the orange wheels, then through a cherry, and then through the side of the orange wheel. Repeat for a second garnish.

This is a really light, fruit-forward, crushable cocktail. The orange blossom water adds a nice floral touch to this is overall light drink, despite it being so rich in color. The color comes from the hibiscus grenadine, which softens the vodka and enhances the floral notes of the orange blossom water.

Cheers to Valentine’s Day!
